Wreck Lens is provided by Mircules VOF, Nieuwegein, the Netherlands ("we", "us", "our").

Agreement

By downloading or using Wreck Lens you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The app

Wreck Lens is a reference app about shipwrecks, for education and general interest. It is a reference you read, not a chart you navigate by. Do not use it for navigation, diving, salvage or any decision where safety is at stake.

Wreck sites

Many wrecks in the app are war graves, protected wreck sites or memorials. Diving on them, or removing anything from them, may be restricted or forbidden by law. Positions are shown as published by their sources, with an accuracy rating, and may be imprecise. Always check official charts and local rules, and respect the site and those who were lost.

Wreck Lens Pro

Wreck Lens Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks search, advanced filters, saved wrecks, Wrecks Near You and the Lost at Sea Today widget. There is no subscription. Pro stays unlocked on devices signed in to the Apple Account that bought it.

Refunds

Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms. We cannot process refunds ourselves.

Content and sources

Records are compiled from Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, with positions, depths and protection status from sources including EMODnet Human Activities, Historic England, NOAA and the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed. Summaries were prepared with AI assistance from those sources. We do not guarantee that any record is complete or free of error. If you spot a mistake, please tell us through the contact page.

Licences

The app's design, code and branding belong to Mircules VOF. Wreck summaries and image captions are available under CC BY-SA 4.0, and the app names the source and licence for each record that uses them. Structured data from Wikidata is CC0. Images keep their individual licences, listed per image in the app's copyright sheet, and the app's Acknowledgements screen carries the full attribution statements.

Disclaimer

Wreck Lens is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Mircules VOF is not liable for damages arising from your use of Wreck Lens. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Wreck Lens after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are settled by the competent court in the Netherlands.
